I think I need to tell you this. Surprisingly MAB and TAB tanks are really clean. I don’t want to believe it’s the SVR™ effect, but it’s really clean. Last time varnish was quite bad on the tank bottom.

ICB is engineered to adsorb soluble by-products at molecular level, avoiding the deposition cycle. By removing the dissolved breakdown products, the lubricants solvency is restored and maintained at new fluid values. This eliminates the feedstock that is necessary to form lubricant deposits, and more importantly will allow any deposits created from the same lubricant to be dissolved back into the oil. Through a full-time 24/7 continuous treatment, ICB permanently removes oxidation material ensuring they do not accumulate in the oil, shifting chemical equilibrium back towards pre-condition stage. It then cleanses and mitigates the contamination cycle in its tracks through kidney-loop circuit, protecting system reliability and production.

ICB FRF is designed to address phosphate ester chemistry, removing acids, phenols, and varnish while simultaneously improving resistivity, and preventing EHC failures.

 

Safe, reliable, and cost-effective chemistry solution for in-service phosphate ester fluids focused on the root cause of degradation: acid formation and varnish precursor accumulation.

 

Phosphate esters are fire-resistant fluids (FRFs). These synthetic fluids hydrolyze and oxidize readily during service, creating harmful acids and phenols. These breakdown products are established varnish precursors that must be removed to allow for reliable servo valve performance in EHC systems.

From the first day jet, lubes are put into service, they begin to break down as a result of oxidation and hydrolysis, creating dissolved degradation products. These dissolved contaminants are produced from high temperatures, water content, and entrained oxygen. ICB technology removes acid to our target of AN < 0.05 with 4-8 times the capacity of alternate acid removal medias.High acid number (AN) in phosphate ester means premature fluid replacement if left un-managed. Since acid production is autocatalytic, the acid in your system will generate more acid which, left unchecked, can quickly become a serious problem.

Remove What Others Are Unable To Remove

As dissolved metals accumulate, they act as a catalyst forming depots on servo valves and gels that can cause valve restriction and mask filter elements. ICB elements do not contribute metals and will remove dissolved metals from airborne ingress and element leaching to <10 ppm

For most EHC systems, the primary operating fluid is phosphate ester. This is a very safe fluid with excellent lubricating properties that when properly maintained can provide years of trouble-free operation without the need for a flush during replacement.
